Spotlight – FQML
At Blundens, we understand the power of good data — and the importance of bringing it together in ways that create real operational value. We’re proud to be trusted by FQML to help drive the next phase of their digital evolution.
Blundens recently exhibited at the Data and AI Show in London where we demonstrated the latest in IoT and Digital Twin capabilities. These technologies have real potential to change our world and improve the quality of life and in some cases, reduce injury or workplace fatalities for many across the world.
"Using the latest technologies in IoT (Internet of Things) and Digital Twins to drive a smarter, more sustainable future for generations to come."
With more employees returning to work, the office environment will once again be used to aid collaboration and provide a hub for many to escape, focus and concentrate within managed facilities.
We see many businesses beginning to look at the potential of using IoT sensors to build a smart environment that supports the roles of facility management and operational staff to manage and monitor internal compounds, such as offices and collaborative work spaces.
We are currently working on concepts with our customers for a multitude of use cases that can showcase the applicability of IoT and Digital Twins without the need for upfront cost and investment into physical hardware, made possible through the generation of synthetic data made by our own custom tooling which can be customised to the datasets of each business.
Improved energy efficiency
Using IoT sensors to monitor energy consumption and identify areas where energy is being wasted, and with the help of digital twins, a building’s energy systems can be optimised to reduce consumption and lower costs.
Increased productivity
By using IoT devices, businesses can monitor employee activity and provide insights into how to improve productivity. This could involve optimising spaces, identifying bottlenecks, and improving collaboration.
Enhanced safety and security
IoT sensors can also be used to monitor the office environment, including the detection of fires, gas leaks, or other potential hazards. By using digital twins to simulate emergency situations, the office can ensure that it is prepared to handle any potential crisis.
Better space utilisation
IoT sensors can track the usage of office spaces, including conference rooms, desks, and other areas. By analysing this data, the office can optimise space usage and reduce the need for additional office space.

At Blundens, we believe that technology can be a force for good—not just in business, but in the world around us. That’s why we’re proud to share that our founder, Gary Blunden, has joined the board of trustees at Tigers4Ever, a UK-based conservation charity dedicated to giving wild tigers a wild future.
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with our community. Our founder, Gary Blunden, has been honoured with the prestigious title of Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP)!
I can’t recommend these guys enough. I’ve collaborated on many projects with Gary and his team. Their delivery, cadence and knowledge are the best I’ve come across.
